NSW: ASIC launches inquiry into super funds

SYDNEY, Jan 13 AAP - The Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) has
launched an inquiry into superannuation funds.

Seventy-two Australian fund managers have had their investment practices examined as
part of an inquiry into possible market manipulation, The Australian Financial Review
reported today.

The corporate regulator has written to the managers responsible for 90 per cent of
the $630 billion invested in local funds to determine if after-market trading of managed
investments is occurring in Australia.
